Missy is an entrepreneur, professional blogger, author and educator. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and has a passion for empowering women with knowledge and confidence. She is a certified birth doula through DONA International, a Hypno-Doula through Hypnobabies®, and a certified placenta specialist. She has created a curriculum, Your Birth Experience, specifically for doulas and childbirth educators to use to empower their clients in their birth, breastfeeding and postpartum options. Tulsa Family Doulas agency members are all trained and certified in her curriculum.

Missy enjoys writing and is an award-winning blogger as the Honeybee Mama and was a featured blogger for TulsaKids Magazine. In 2014, she published the article A Doula's Story in the TulsaKids Baby Guide. Missy was also a regular guest on Fox 23's Tulsa Live and enjoys public speaking opportunities. She is a contributing expert for TheTot.com, The New Birth Paradigm Summit, the Cultured Doula Program and Flock Yeah mini birth conferences. She also loves giving back to the Tulsa Community as well as travel all over the United States training other doulas and childbirth educators in the Your Birth Experience curriculum.

Missy wants to show mothers they don’t have to be afraid of childbirth and that they can have the birth experience they truly desire. She does this by combating myths with facts, using simple and effective training techniques and by getting them the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions about their birth experiences. She talks about empowerment every chance she gets because she loves it!

Missy is a native Tulsan, graduate of Union High school, and a mother to two children. She loves adventure, spontaneity, NPR, the beach, wine, homemade macaroni and cheese, laughing, campfires and her clogs.
